Greetings Members and Readers,
Back in the days of yore or before, eclipse was a frightening event used by the unscrupulous to manipulate the ignorant masses to various purposes. Mayans, Aztecs, etc., leaders or spiritual gurus used their calculations to set up and thus “cause” eclipse events to frighten their people so as to move them to pay alms and allegiance to established rituals, usually to strengthen or empower such leaders to a greater level of importance within said society.
Now, we all know and can anticipate times of various types of eclipse. We know the when and where and type of most any eclipse and understand what is actually happening in space. You know, the who or what that is blocking light, casting shadows, moving gravitational metering, elevating tides, lowering water levels for a moment and maybe even causing a few rocks to slip a bit within our Earth. Eclipse seems to be a pretty regular event(s) that can be calculated and thus, predicted.
BUT, many still get their panties in a wad, making much to do about nothing particularly different. Some do try to gain notoriety claiming that there are signs in the sky “Suddenly” predicting future earthly events, actions, or results regarding religious messaging or signing or worse, evil incarnations showing themselves.
The paths of the darkest part of the eclipse suddenly becomes important or significant to some and the names of the towns/cities are studied within that dark path for some mysterious messaging to show itself. Some look at intersections of previous eclipses and the one presently to be experienced and make claims of what location that intersection denotes. Apparently, the name of a town at that path intersection this time is Rapture, Indiana. Interesting!
Please know that Biblical Prophesy is very clear that the rapture IS hands down, a signless event and that no hints are to be given or eluded to regarding the coming Christian Rapture. Any claims contradicting that are clearly false.
Experiencing darkness, total darkness or partial darkness in the middle of the day can be a weird experience but often, a dark cloud can achieve a similar experience sometimes for a longer period, although the lighting or hue is different.
It just may be that the enthralled are alerted to the fact that we are but a ball flying around in space at speeds of some 70,000 mph in orbital speed doing a dance with other heavenly bodies that are also traveling at high speeds, interestingly, all in different directions and that soup of movement is spiced with other types of space travelers like asteroids and comets that give even more flavor to a precariously balanced stew. The speed of our movement is further complicated by a universal expansion speed relative to the great Attractor at 1000 km/s and/or at 400 km/s relative to cosmic background radiation.
Note: speed in space is a relationship of two objects, not a property of an object.
To be sure, we are moving in several directions at very high speeds.
It is a good thing that we can, from time to time, stop considering ourselves and our petty concerns as arrogant critters traveling around in space on one of billions of fast moving objects. We are induced to take the time to think of our insignificance found in a very precarious and not always so predictable dance in a ballroom that is too large to be measured.
Being humbled from time to time gives us an equilibrium adjustment and is, perhaps, a way that we can become aware of just how we fit into the whole of creation as we know it. Our arrogance and petty concerns just fall away when considering the distances in the monstrosity of space.
So, experience the temporary darkness and be grateful for one more moment of both the fragility and tenacity of life so evidently intertwined.
